Who we are

Since 2009, SelfPay has been the go-to solution for easy and fast electronic payments, leveraging the largest network of self-service payment stations in Romania.

Today, more than 7.4 million Romanians use utility subscription services that require periodical payments. Hence the actual need to have an accessible, secure and easy-to-use payment system, requiring only a few touches of a screen.

This is what led us to build ZebraPay in 2009: to make life easier for everyone paying utility and service bills, from TV, internet, phone and so many others.

At the end of 2017, ZebraPay had a network of more than 2.900 active terminals, helping pay for over 100 services. In 2017, the 7+ million transactions our network intermediated confirmed that our services really had made a difference, and that we had earned the trust of millions of loyal customers.

It was also at the end of 2017 that we decided it was time for a change, so we started a rebranding process, to align our image with our vision and ambitions going forward.

During the first months of 2018, we took the step and became SelfPay.

SelfPay offers the customers an omni-channel approach to making self-service purchases, and aims to expand ever beyond what we have achieved so far.

The rebranding process was an all-team effort, and went beyond the (hard work of) re-designing our thousands of pay stations and well onto improving our service offering and re-asserting our customer-centric mindset.

No matter what payment method SelfPay guests choose (cash, card, mobile apps, QR codes, cryptocurrency etc.), they have access to modern technology and top-notch services, 24/7.

We want to make the future of payments safer, more modern, and more adapted to the customers needs, so we will continue to develop services to make life better for people, and transform the way they experience the process of bill payments – from time consuming, stressful moments, to easy, quick and safe journeys that let you focus on what matters most.

Technology

Our central infrastructure is hosted in a private cloud secured infrastructure being able to scale up and process up to 1,000 transactions per second. The main server is securely connected through VPN to all vendors: telcos, utility companies etc. Our back-office system includes real-time reporting, remote management, cash collection management, automatic reconciliation of all transactions.
